Committed to the goal of inclusive growth in rural areas, Dhara for Sustaining Life is working to spread awareness about government initiatives for ease of living, economic development and social empowerment.

Despite the Government launches various programs and schemes for the needy people, the information asymmetry and poor public outreach results in exclusion of otherwise eligible people. Even sometimes people are not aware about the procedure or the concerned reference point to apply for a scheme. This breeds inequality, corruption and poor governance.

Connect Rural India program by Dhara for Sustaining Life takes governance to the doorstep of rural household. We are working to make the benefits of government schemes reach the eligible people. Our volunteers act as "Grameen Sahyogi" surveying each household about their particulars and then informing them about benefits to which they are eligible. In case, they were not aware of any of the benefits, Dhara informs them and also assists them in enrolling for the same.

We partner with village level social activists and motivated literate people to deal with public grievances on day-to-day basis. Through our website, we provide a one-stop integrated portal where following services are available for public interest:

• Links to websites where applications can be submitted
• Information about new schemes
• Amendments made to existing schemes
• Reports about issues and challenges in a particular scheme
• Any other relevant information

Through this, villagers cannot rely on unreliable intermediaries or "dalal" who only make money out of this information gap. Villagers can access their benefits without paying any illegitimate charges.
